Off/Def Stats

Off/Def is the ratio of shots and goals taken to shots and goals given up. A value greater than 1.00 says that a team scores more often than it is scored upon, or takes more shots than it gives up. Shots and goals for and against are actual numbers, while Adj Off, Adj Def and Off/Def are normalized by taking opponent stats into account.

Adj Off is shots for per game and goals scored per game, adjusted based on opponent defensive stats. In other words, a team that faces opponents who have better offensive and defensive stats than the average is given credit.

Adj Def is shots allowed per game and goals allowed per game, adjusted based on opponent offensive stats.
